2024- 2025 Payment and Cancellation Policy
Tuition
Please contact me for rates and availability.

Tuition is billed in installments of 4 lessons paid in advance. This is not monthly. Payments can be made by Venmo, Zelle, check or cash. A text notice will be sent for payment reminder.

Late Payment Fee
Payment is due at the first lesson of the 4-lesson installment. A $15 fee will be charged for late payments.
What your tuition covers
In addition to the private lesson time, tuition covers my time for individualized lesson planning: thoughtful selection of repertoire to best express each student’s abilities and goals, strategies for addressing technical issues specific to individual students’ challenges, goal setting and monitoring, research and planning for competitions/auditions/recitals, photocopies of solo pieces, etudes and scales exercises, frequent communication with parents and students, instrument and equipment upgrade consultation, my time at recitals and pre-recital rehearsals.
Cancellation, Rescheduling and Makeup Policy
Your tuition reserves a weekly time slot specifically for you. You will be charged for all lessons you are registered for, including those missed thru student absence. I will allow for a maximum of 2 make-up lessons per school year with the following guidelines: To be eligible for a make-up lesson, I must be notified via text or email by 9:00am the day of the lesson. Cancellations made after 9:00am the day of the lesson and missed lessons with no advance notice are not eligible for a make-up and you will be charged for the lesson. No refunds will be given for any cancelled or missed lessons. All make-up lessons must be completed by the end of the school year. A request to reschedule a lesson is the same thing as cancelling a lesson.
If a student is home from school due to illness, please do not attend the in-person lesson. The lesson may be done online during the regular lesson time and may be a Music Theory lesson if the student is not well enough to play clarinet.
Online lessons will follow the same policy as in-person lessons. Online lessons are done via Google Meet. I expect the student to be on time, set up and ready to begin at the scheduled lesson time.
In case of inclement weather, the lesson will be done online at the regularly scheduled lesson time.
Lessons during school vacation weeks are optional.
Any lessons that I cancel will be made up.
Practice
Students who enjoy the greatest success in playing their instrument are those who maintain a regular practice schedule. Beginning and intermediate level students are expected to practice a minimum 30 minutes/day, 5 days/week. Advanced students will need to allow for more practice time. Parental support is essential. I have written several articles on practicing which are available on my website www.elizabethleehey.com.
Photo release
Photos of students may be posted on my website or Facebook page for promotional purposes and congratulatory announcements for student accomplishments. Identifying information will be excluded, or limited to first names only. If you do not want your child’s image used, please let me know.
