We began our collaboration several years ago by exploring the approaches
to expressive performance by great masters of the past - particularly Pablo Casals, Fernand Gillet and Maria Callas - and applying their artistic understanding to our playing.
Starting with conventional woodwind repertoire, we soon moved to string
and vocal music, transcribing famous classical and popular pieces that have been most meaningful and significant to our
lives - building a strong foundation on arias from Bach's Passions, Oratorios and Cantatas.
We feel our original transcriptions attempt to capture the essence of these works, and create new beauties not commonly heard from the combination of flute
and clarinet.
